OK, So why did I make this page?
I got off the phone a little while ago with "Customer Service" at
Pacific Gas and Electric Company. I'm sorry, but "service" is not what
they are about.
We are dealing with a "closing bill" for $4.43.
Yes, this is NOT about the money, but about the principle of
fiduciary responsibility. And, you can write me off as a "nut case"
if you like, but I'm going to the CPUC over this bill.
I moved to San Francisco from New York City in March, 1997.
I bought my home on Rausch Street in May, 1997.
I started out starry-eyed and pleasant, only to be seriously
"dissed" by another favorite utility, Pacific Bell, on my move-in
date, 13 May 1997.
Maybe it's not relevant, but read on...
My first "encounter" with PG&E was in xxxx when they,
without any notice, introduction, or explanation,
dug up Rausch Street to replace the low pressure 6" cast iron gas
lines with high pressure 3/4 inch yellow plastic lines.
I really did try to cooperate, but...
Sorry, that's another long story to be told.
But, it does go significantly to they way they operate!
The issue here is a bill for $4.43. Yes, that's right!
Four dollars and forty three cents!
So, why didn't I just pay it and move on?
I'm a jerk!
I'm a nut-case!
I have some basic principles!

PGE Gross Negligence Cancels Account
I own a 12 unit apartment building on Haight Street. (see Haight8.info)
I have very little turnover, but sometimes people move on.
Here's a short form chronology of what happened.

07 xx/xx H06 DG calls to say PGE bill is whacked

11 09/21 $2.63 13.61 H06 08/22-08/28
10/17 -$1.03 16.24 Heat Storm Bill Credit
I owe PG&E $3.78 for current charges 07/24 bill.
PG&E Says I owe $15.21 and has sent the bill to COLLECTIONS.
I'll explain it as I have on several occasions to PG&E.
01 07/15 The tenant in unit H06 moved out.
02 07/15 The new tenant DG moved into unit H06
03 07/17 It appears that the new tenant DG established an account.
Oh, drat, I'm totally confused. Here's what happened:
05 07/23 Approximately, previous tenant called to terminate service.
PGE FAILED TO PROPERLY IDENTIFY THE CALLER
PGE Terminated the account of DG and put the bill back in my name.
07 xx/xx The tenant, DG called to tell me the PGE bill is whacked.
I called PGE and spoke to many people. -- More later -- I have call logs.
PGE will only give me information on MY account.
What we really need here is a time line of what actually happened.
09 08/28 Service has been restored to current tenant DG's account.
11 09/21 I get a PGE bill which includes unit H06.
I mark it "Don't Pay"
13 11/10 PGE sends "Past Due" orange notice for $15.21
I left SF for the East coast on Nov 15. I didn't see it.
I returned to SF late on Dec 19.
15 11/20 PGE turns the $15.21 to COLLECTIONS for North Shore Agency.
19 12/27 I call PGE Customer Service
After 19 minutes on the phone I am finally promised the Aug 2006 bill
which I requested in my previous call.
